It was sooo surprise to hear dat Yasmin Ahmad had left us later last night (Saturday night) eventhough she was reported to be stable but critical...knowing that the chances was soo small after the 1st surgery...
gua sangat2 terkejut dan terkilan sebab there will be no longer filem2 from Yasmin Ahmad which we all know her as a storyteller...and a MALAYSIAN story teller...out of all her movie..i only miss her 1st film 'Rabun' and the other which is still unreleased - 'Muallaf'... dan pastinya gua akan cari dan tengok citer nih! It must be GOOD such it has received an international awards and been on in Singapore, Japan and Tokyo...perghhh...does any other Malaysian film director had done dat?? i will rather say none...
gua dah baca apa yang Afdlin tulis dalam blog dia and i would say that i'm 100% agree with him...Yasmin Ahmad would be the best ever director in Malaysia and which she never think about award and box-office film...it was only the way she shares her though...and her believes...
it is sad to see her documentary interviewed with the Star online on 21st July about her though in 1Malaysia, her film and more...and it was really interesting!
Looking at the other comments about her...it has been told that she had tried to recognise the '1Malaysia' for the past 15-20 years ago...she might not be the best 'karyawan' in Malaysia just because she didn't join any of the groups but we are looking at how Malaysian accepting the way she shows and shares her thought...truly Malaysian...
She had bring a new era on Malaysian film industries...to show about her beloved country to the rest of the world...without putting any races ahead from the others...being fair that Malaysian should be in Malaysian movie and the target wouldnt be only for 1 races...
kehilangan yang sangat besar dimana beliau tidak lagi dapat berkongsi cerita beliau dengan jutaan rakyat Malaysia yang lain...and macam Afdlin cakap, all her talented works might be recognized once she was no longer with us...where it is consider too late...it was no joke...
adakah lagi director filem yang bagus2 akan di'anaktiri'kan macam ni jugak? just because diaorang tak ber'kroni' dengan mana2 pihak? jika ada,itu sungguh memalukan...kerana karya anak Malaysia disekat oleh negara sendiri tetapi diiktiraf di negara lain...
next too see....Afdlin Shauki....who was also talented and i got to know long time ago that he had been given a chance and recommended by Yasmin Ahmad to direct an advertisement for Petronas...does Yasmin had already planned for her replacement....secara sengaja atau tidak sengaja...Wallahualam...
honestly...there will be the other 2 talented director to look for...and hoping that our film industry will becoming as good as what Yasmin had done to her film internationaly... the truly talented artist...Afdlin Shauki and Khabir Bhatia....
i will sure support your film every time it was open in cinema!!
